Men’s Kilts. A Fashion GO or NO-No?
FULL BLAST TV
Do you think the Scottish fashion of wearing men’s kilts could ever fly on the streets of ‘hoods in America? Well ALT.KILT – a custom urban wear kilt company seems to think so. We recently had the chance to see Regina Davan’s custom made design kilts in a private showcase over New York Fashion Week, and we must admit, we were impressed by some of the designs we seen. One of our favorites was the black heavy cotton kilt with silver contrast stitching, a dual cargo pocket with silver box latches and featuring recycled stainless steel panels with the ALT.KILT logo. Another exceptional piece was the Oxblood leather kilt with suede accent stripes and textured antique silver buttons. The kilts were featured in Obvious Magazine, who presented the showcase and we’re still debating if this fashion could actually be pulled off as day to day wear. While in New York City, anything goes, we’re uncertain if men’s kilts would be as popular in cities like Atlanta, Chicago and Los Angeles as of yet. But time will tell.
